Ida Gormsen
: bass
Ida is self taught and has been living as a freelance musician for almost two decades. Ida has been staying in various places in Scandinavia and for some years in Ghana and South Africa. Her African roots have given her a unique sense of groove. Ida is a versatile musician and has always enjoyed playing various styles -taking inspiration from one to another- both when composing and playing. She has been playing with numerous Scandinavian and International musicians and has initiated many musical and intercultural projects mixing musicians from Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Ida loves being a band leader of her own projects but as much she enjoys creating a steady base for everyone else in the band to lean on; a role she believes is the essence and the all-pervading challenge of being a bass player.
